Water and Sewer Billing
Water and sewer service from January 1, 2018 through July 31st, 2018 will be billed at the minimum rate. Starting from August 1st, normal water rates will apply. If you have been paying monthly, please bring copies of receipts, bank statements or cancelled checks to the Village Office starting August 17th.
Christina Vidlak is our interim clerk and will be at the office from 8:00 to 12:00 on Saturdays.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a meeting of the Chairperson and Village Board of the Village of Alvo, Nebraska will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 1st, at 135 Main Street, Alvo, NE which meeting is open to the public. An agenda for said meeting, kept continuously current, is available for public inspection at the office of the Village Clerk at City Hall. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be enlarged later than twenty-four hours prior to the scheduled commencement of the meeting.

N-63 Alvo North Project is Progressing
The construction starts at the north edge of Alvo and continues north to Bluff Road, then from Bluff north to Church Road. The proposed work schedule is 10 hour days, 6 days a week. Access to the Alvo Cemetery will be provided as needed for maintenance and funerals. Copies of the construction schedule are available at the Village Office along with business cards for Casey Wisness, project manager. His phone number is 712-898-1787.
Nebraska Department of Transportation Detour Map
According to the map, the intersection of 63 and Church Road will be closed - but actually, Church and NE 63 intersection is open.
The second phase began Monday, March 19th, 2018. During this phase, N-63 will be closed to traffic from Reference Post 4+20 to Reference Post 9+68. A detour will be marked for through traffic for this phase. During the construction, a temporary access road will be provided for the Alvo Cemetery.
Knife River Construction is the primary contractor and Casey Wisness is the project manager. His phone number is 712-898-1787.
The project is anticipated to be completed by November 2018.
The Department’s project manager for this project is Jesse De Los Santos of Lincoln. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously through construction work zones.

This notice is directed toward those who flushed their shop towels, baby wipes and other non-degradable items down their toilets - the Village replaced two pumps at the sewage lagoon to the tune of $10,000 for the pumps and $6,000 for installation.
Nebraska's moisture situation
Greatest news this year so far! All counties in Nebraska have normal moisture levels.
Nationally, 13 states - Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Maryland, Nebraska, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia and Wisconsin have normal moisture levels. Puerto Rico, Hawaii and Alaska are still dry, with some moderate drought in Hawaii on Maui and the Big Island.
