Extreame cold weather advisory in effect - take precautions!

Put on that coat even you are just taking trash outside or go to your car. Things happen, you might lock yourself out or car breaks down.
Dress in layers and do not neglect hat, gloves scarves warm shoes. One word: Frostbite. One big mistake involves not dressing warmly enough for outdoors, more layers if you stay outdoors and cover your face with scarf.

Make sure you have full tank of gas, charged phone, "emergency kit in the can", energy bars; check your battery. Getting stuck on the road in this temperature can be lethal, if you are in the middle of nowhere call 911. Check on your neighbors, especially elderly.

Take care of your animals, small dogs and cats loose body heat faster than larger dogs. Feed them extra kibble and do not leave outside for longer than 5-10 min. They get frostbite too, and it is painful.
