75+ age group can schedule covid vaccination THIS WEEK

Starting February 4th

Those who signed up for covid vaccine notifications last week have received the following email today:

Vaccine Availability E-Mail Notification

COVID-19 vaccination appointments for age 75 and above (year of birth in 1946 or before) will be available for scheduling on Thursday, February 4. The link will be available on this web page no later than 9:00am:  https://www.douglascountyhealth.com/109-covid-19/808-covid-19-community-vaccination-clinics

We encourage you to use the online scheduling system if possible. You can ask a friend or relative to assist you and can provide their email. If you are requesting 2 appointments together, please use separate email addresses because we have to limit appointments to one email address each. If you have trouble, you can call the DCHD information line at (402) 444-3400.
We will be watching the demand closely and open up younger groups as soon as possible. If we get more vaccine, we will be able to open up appointments sooner. All age-based (65+) appointments will be made through the Douglas County Health Department link above.

IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING UNDER 65 GROUP WITH HIGH RISK UNDERLYING CONDITIONS (REGISTER AGAIN!)

Appointments for people who are under 65 (year of birth 1957 or later) will be made through the Nebraska vaccination system VACCINATE.NE.GOV. People in this group will need to re-register at https://vaccinate.ne.gov/ We apologize that you will have to re-register but the state system will need more information from you in order to determine your priority. You will be asked to to answer questions about your medical conditions.

If you are unable to find a friend or relative to help and still need assistance scheduling an appointment, you can call the DCHD COVID-19 Information Line at 402-444-3400.

If you live in a senior/independent living facility or are a patient of OneWorld Community Health Center, Charles Drew Health Center, or Fred LeRoy Health Center, vaccinations will be available at these facilities.

Pre-Registration for Residents Aged 65 and Over:

If you are aged 65 or over and live in Sarpy or Cass County, the Health Department is offering a pre-registration process for receiving additional information regarding COVID-19 vaccine availability.  This survey does not register you for a vaccine; it is a mechanism for you to be contacted once you are eligible to receive the vaccine.  COVID-19 Vaccine Pre-Registration Survey for Residents Aged 65 and Over

If you do not have access to a computer and would like to pre-register, please call 531-203-0322 and leave a voice message with your name, address, date of birth, phone number, as well as an email address if you have one.  A staff member will use this information to register for you.
